Hello! I'm Liz, the founder of Pass the Chord! Pass the Chord is a nonprofit organization centered around music and empowering youth to discover music, cherish moments, and pass the chord. As Pass the Chord begins to grow, I am looking to assemble a leadership team capable of providing support across various functions. Beyond the direct impact of our work, team members will also receive verified VOLUNTEER hours (after we get PVSA certified) and gain a distinguished role to highlight on college applications!

Vice President

What you'll do

  • Ensure all departments are meeting internal deadlines
  • Oversee daily operations
  • Maintain responsibility by tracking all incoming donations
  • Manage all organizational expenses
  • Create monthly budget reports
  • Serve as the "right hand" for the President or any Department Director

Social Media Manager

What you'll do

  • Manage the YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok accounts for Pass the Chord
  • Ensure content remains relevant and engaging
  • Analyze engagement metrics and adjust outreach strategies accordingly
  • Collaborate with the Director of Events to build interest in performances and donation drives

What you should bring

  • A creative vision
  • A basic understanding of video editing / design software (e.g. Canva, CapCut)
  • Strong aesthetic judgment
  • A strong understanding of relevant trends

Director of Fundraising and Donation Drives

What you'll do

  • Lead logistics for instrument donation drives
  • Communicate with potential donors
  • Manage pickup and maintenance for donated equipment
  • Plan and execute fundraising initiatives (community drives, crowdfunding, food fundraisers, etc.)
  • Come up with engaging new ideas for raising money
  • Ensure all funds and instruments are accurately recorded
  • Maintain a database of potential donors and community partners
  • Organize food for performances

Director of Event Planning and Coordination

What you'll do

  • Identify and secure local venues for performances, workshops, and outreach
  • Manage all logistics on event days (venue setup, food/refreshments, on-site communications)
  • Manage funding for food and other aspects of events
  • Develop unique new themes for performances and events that align with our mission
  • Maintain communication with venue owners, staff, special guests, and performers

Director of Tutoring and Free Services

What you'll do

  • Develop a library of free educational resources (video tutorials, quality sheet music)
  • Design and run an efficient tutoring program (recruiting, training, and vetting volunteer instructors)
  • Oversee student–tutor matching
  • Ensure each student receives a high-quality tutoring experience
  • Gather feedback from students and tutors to improve materials and programs
  • Recruit potential mentors

CTO (Chief Technology Officer)

What you'll do

  • Manage and update the website
  • Lead design and development of digital tools (potentially a mobile app for free sheet music and other services)
  • Implement secure systems for handling user data, volunteer records, and resources
  • Provide technical support to other departments for their digital workflows
